disposed of. and plans for the sum-
mer months were outlined.
The Bible meditation for the af-
ternoon was conducted by Mrs.
Alvin Lynn.

A program of ministerial relief
will be presented at the Baptist
Church at 8:30 Wednesday night,
June9, it was announced this week.
The program will be directed by
the Woman’s Missionary Society
and will take the place of the usual
Thursday afternoon meeting.
A playlet will be given, and a
special offering will be taken at
the close of the evening.

Red roses graced the nome of
Mrs. R. T. Moore when on Wed-
nesday afternoon she was hostess
to the Delta Packa Bridge Club.
Mrs. E. P. Johnson scored high
for the afternoon’s games, Mrs. Dan

Presbyterian church officers and
their wives were entertained at the
home of the Rev. and Mrs Paul
D. Hanna Wednesday evening fol-
lowing the regular monthly bus-
iness meeting of the officers.

An outstanding social event of
(the week was the informal recep-
tion Wednesday night honoring
Mr and Mrs. Clyde Huffsmith The
affair was held at the home of the
Rev. and Mrs. A. T. White. Close
friends of the couple were hosts.
Mrs. Jens Nielsen and Mrs. D. B.
Fort presided at the tea table which
had for its central decoration a
bowl of gladioli flanked by tall
candles. Pink sweetheart roses were
used in effective decoration of the
living room.
Approximately 75 guests enjoyed
the hospitality.

She demonstrated how to can
tomatoes by the water bath meth-
od and how to dry carrots.
Mrs. R L. Reist was nominated
as delegate to represent the clubs
of the county at the annual con-
vention. Mrs McGahey read a letter
from Mrs. Bet tie Payton telling of
the floods in Missouri.

Corpus Christi Wednesday after
visiting there for some time. Ben
Evans accompanied him and visit-
ed in the Lobrecht home until Sun-

Mrs. Neil Ahlman and children
of Houston arrived in Premont Fri-
day where they will visit in the C.

Wednesday from Fort Worth where
she visited her nieces Mary Ruth
and Elizabeth Blake, at Texas Wes-
leyan University the past week.

fore returning to work for the Shell
