Texas remains to be seen. The
principle of it, however, is the
only thing that can save public
hunting as such.
It must he remembered that
more than HO percent of the har-
vested game each year is taken on
land belonging to someone other
than the hunter. In Texas this per-
centage may he even higher
The gtim*' belongs to the peo-
ple. hut the land belong* to individ-
uals. If they fail in providing
cover and feed for wildlife, there
will he no harvest. <>n the other
hand, if landowners treat their
wild’ife as a crop, it can he profit-
able to them financially, and pro-

who like, to hunt.

Mr. and Mrs. Jtul Bratton of
Mercury returned home last week
from n two weeks' vacation trip
In the western states They visited
Yellowstone National Park and the
mountainous country In Wyoming

visit. Mr Bratton said it was the
most enjoyable vacation trip of
their lives. “Every minute of the
trip was pleasant and we certainly
appreciated the opportunity of
