Mr. John Bruiugton, being a widower
of the colony on the Paluxy, got wearied
of living at bis good home all alone. He
mouuled bis horse and set out as a matter
of pure business to find a wife. He struck
into the Cowan neighborhood calling on
all the widows and man lag cable daugh-
ters. Upon Col. Cowan’s place he found
an attractive widow and also her attrac-
tive daughter. He paid them a couple of
visits, aad in about three weeks from the
time be started qut to find a wife, be,
aged about forty-five, and Miss Lula Kee-
nan, aged twenty toree, became man and
wife. The ceremony was performed last
Thursday by Justice Long, of Paluxy, and
the happy couple went immediately to bis
good home in the colony.

Sunday and was buried at West End
cemetery Monday. He was a capable
teaches, beloved neighbor and a good

sociation mat at the court bouse, ia the
town of Stepbenvilie, county of Krath
and state of Texas. February 20. 1891,
pursuant to i call by the board of di-
rectors to consider the advisability of dis-
posing of the property belonging to said
afonciH'ion. said property consisting of
165 acre** of land more nr Isas. J. H.
Cage, president of said association, being
in foe chair announced the object of the
■neetlng. A majority of the s'oek being ■
represented the association proceeded to j
business. A motion was made and sec j
on'led In order to obtain the sentiment of
the majority of the stockholders, whether
said property would be sold or not, and
said motion was put to the hou*e, and
said stock holders voted to sell said prop-
erty. A motion was made and seconded
to authorize aud empower the board of
directors to sell the land to the best ad-
vantage for the benefit of the stockhold-
ers within ninety days from the date of
this meeting.
There being no further business before
the bouse after the reading and approval
of the minutes the association adjourned.

if Mr. Lee Young has violated the law iu
fencing the Dublin and f’arlton road he
should be prosecuted is well limed—that
is, if he has violated the lav/; but we will

Capt. John 8. Hyatt, the popular cash-

certainly be any effort to build a new
court house this year, but the esteemed
Dublin Telephone last week says on the
question:
It is understood an effort will be made
to bnild a new court house at Stepben-
vilie this year. The taxpayers ean begin
to think on it, and when liid proper time
crime- they can he heard on the q lestion.
It is hoped the taxpayers will “begio
to think" but not to “raise old cuu”
about it. It don’t hurt to think as the
Telephone suggests, hut it will hurt lo
get up a fierce wrangle over the question.
