PARTYThe Membership Committee of
Preservation Dallas cordially
opened the doors of the Historic
Wilson House for the Annual
Holiday Party. The Wilson House
was beautifully decorated along
with good food and good cheer.
Light hors d'oeuvres, sweets,
drinks and fun were served to
Holiday Party guests. Special
thanks to Wade Kemp with Robb
& Stucky, Membership Committee
Chairs Katie Blair and Steve Grice
and Modern Committee Chair Pete
Peabody. You all helped make
this a successful and memorable
event!

This In Town Outing took place
January 22 at a 1925 historic
bungalow in Oak Cliff. This
house was totally remodeled
and restored with emphasis
on green sustainability. The
principals of Four Hands
successfully rehabilitated the
house in a number of ways that
included, recycling materials and
increasing efficiency while still
maintaining the historic character
of the house. Conservation
consulant Catherine Horsey of
Sustainable Places, Sustainable
Organizations gave a presentation
about the sustainable details
and improvements on the
house. Special thanks to
our Membership Committee
volunteers, and homeowners
Chas Fitzgerald and Jack
Hammack.

POWERS HOUSE
The debut and book signing of
Preservation Dallas' book, Dallas
Landmarks took place at one of
our own Dallas landmarks, the
Ralph J. and Mary Powers House
on February 11. Guests sipped
on wine and toured the 1936
Charles Dilbeck house. The authors
of Dallas Landmarks, all noted
Dallas historians, were present for
the event. Noted Dilbeck expert
Willis Winters, F.A.I.A, provided
insight about Dilbeck's signature
style, pointing out his trademark
characteristics seen throughout the
house.r r
