and according to reports frooa
Fred O. Jaye, chairman of the
drive, pitlxens of the county will
have to step fast with donations
to go'over the top.
Mr. Jaye explains that com-
mittees Will be appointed to all
communities of the county, and
that quotas to alT sections will be
set as near as possible according
to the population. The drive will
close to Comanche County on'
October 30.

cannot fall,” Jaye says. “It Is an
obligation we have to our fight-
ing men throughout the world,

tain. Captain Cauley, who in’eiv-

Government of Occupied Territory

Field, Okla. His rise from recruit
to the highest grade of non-com-
•missioned officer to less than a
year is believed to be a record
for the Central Flying Training
Command-
One of Sgt. Thomas’ buddies, a
student of history, observed. “The
original Napoleon didn't do any
better during his first year In the
army."
Sgt Thomas enlisted to the Air
Forces, but was immediately re-
assigned to the Medical Corps
because of his civilian experience
as a registered pharmacist. Two
weeks after enlisting he was select-
ed as a member of the first cadre
to activate the station hospital *
at Frederick. Between March $
and April 2 of this year, Sgt.
Thomas progressed from private
first class to technical sergeant.
On September IS he was appointed
sergeant-major of the station hos-
pital and awarded the rank of
master sergeant.
Sgt. Thomas Is the son of Mrs.
Eula Thomas of Comanche.
He has two brothers In the
