Taken By Death
Grover Mlills Cook, died at his
home In Comanche from gun-
shot wounds self Inflicted August
25, six days before he would have
have been slxty-slx years of age.
His body was discovered In the
bathroom of his home with a gun'
lying nearby. Mr. Cook left three
notes; one to Bill Mew bom, sec-
retary of the Masonic Lodge; an-
other to Virgil Norris, Insurance
man. whom he named as admin-
istrator of his estate; and the
third to Dr. Charles Gray, his
physician. He had Attorney How-
ell Cobb to make a will for him
a few days before his death.
Funeral, services for Mr. Cook
were held at Comanche Funeral

Mrs. Laura Lavina Love
Oook. He grew up in Comanche
and attended Comanche High
School, being an outstanding
student. He was so apt. in mathe-
matics and science, that class-
mates gave him the nickname,
“Genius”.
Mr. Cook, who never married,
was a carpenter and followed
that trade ln Comanche most of
his life except for a period of
several years ln Chicago. He was
a veteran of World War I.
Mr. Cook was a certificate
member of the Masonic Lodge
and was one of the moot faithful
and beet informed members of
Hope Lodge No. 461.
Mr. Cook had been ln falling
health for several years.
Mr. Cook is survived by his
aged mother Who was placed ln
Morph*w Rest Home on account
of poor health a short time ago.
Also surviving are two brothers
and a sister.

died here August 25.
Funeral Services were held at
the Comanche Funeral Home Aug-
ust 25 with Minister M. F. Man-
chester of the Comanche Church
of Christ ln charge.

Stricken With Polio
James Ray Culpepper, 7 year old
son of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Cul-
pepper. Comanche, was stricken
with polio here last week, and
rushed to the Cty-County Hos-
pital. Fort Worth, last Week.
He was on the critical list the
first few days while ln the polio
ward, but Is reported to be making
satisfactory recovery now.
