DOTARIANS enthusiastically seconded a wtatement of
lli Senator Ken Regan last week that Pecos should join
hands with Balmorhea in an effort to secure a cut-off
scenic road through Madera Canyon to link’wit!) the iWv
Scenic Drive out of Fort Davis.
The Rotary club, by resolution, offered its support to
Balmorhea in the project, • , -
Briefly stated, the Balmorhea plajn is as follow**: To
construct a 19-mile road through Madera Canyon, across
the mountains to intersect the Scenic privC. Isadora C#h*
yon is the deep gorge in the Davis ran^e below MadeCi
Springs reflort. Mountain springs .keep./ fresh pools of
clear, cold water in it at all time# ' There is some.jjranc:
scenery through ttye canyon ... tre^s, rof ks, pools, etc:,
that you wouldn’t think; Texas coujd 'boast/
The road sought by Balmorhea woyld bring the Scen-
ic Drive within 60 miles of Pecos, instead,.of the HO mile*
now required to reach the scenic loop by way of Limpia
canyon and Fort DaviS. •
If you doubt {hat the*Seenic Drive will become a para
mount tourist attraction in Texas, drive, up there sometime I •
and see ,for yourself how many people the-20-mile section
Which has Been completed is attracting* •
V li^this case, as in many others, \vl\at is tty Balmorhea’s
interest's to Pecos’ interest. . >
*1 The action of the Rotary club has already been sec-
ondted by the Chamber of Commerce and, we are sun*, will
* ljfnd hearty*response’ w ith every citizen of Pecos.

With a Modern Automatic
VI EM EM HER those days last winter when your heater fai 1-
A^ed and you had to without water at the time you need-
ed it most?
In this section, the life of even the best water heater is
limited. The only way to insure against trouble and it al-
ways comes when you least want it is to replace a heater
that has served its time with a modern, automatic water heater.
We have a wide selection in a range of prices to fit every
purse. Think of the convenience to have at all times a never-
failing source of abundant hot water.
Wo will be glad to explain just how much this can add to
your convenience and just how little expense it will entail.
