CHRISTMAS brings to mind all the beautiful things
of life—recalls childhood pleasures—teaches brotherly
love—touches the heart strings and extends a helping
hand to those who have been unfortunate.
We look back over the past year and recall those
who made it possible for us to keep our business up
to its standard.
We are thankful that Christmas customs permit us
to tell them just how much we appreciate the oppor-
tunity of service they have given us.
May we thank you for this and wish you and those
dear to you a memorable Christmas and a New Year
that will bring health, happiness and prosperity.
Very sincerely,

LARGE CROWD ATTENDED
COMMUNITY TREE
A community Christmas tree was
sponsored this year by the Lions club
and the program was held Friday
night on the public square. A short
program was presented and«then Old
Santa Claus arrived in the fire truck
which was loaded with gifts for the
boys and girls.
The club had prepared a list of
over a hundred names and the citi-
zens responded in a most generous
manner and every name was provided
for. There was also an extra amount
of gifts and these were used for chil-
dren present whose names had not
been turned in to the committee. It
would make anyone glad to have had
a part in this spreading of Christ-
mas joy if they were at the tree to
see the joy on the faces of the chil-
dren as their names were called.

FIRE DEPARTMENT SPREAD
CHRISTMAS CHEER
The members of the Lampasas Fire
Department have for several years
been remembring many families in
Lampasas at Christmas time and they
sent out something like fifty boxes
on Friday to the people living near
Lampasas. This year they sent staple
groceries and something like $200 in
foods was distributed.
The boxes contained bacon, lard,
sugar, coffee, rice, beans, potatoes and
flour and in some instances fruit and
candy was sent to the children of the
families. This is a very worthy un-
dertaking on the part of the Firemen
and they use different ways each
year to raise the money to carry
on this work.
Let us test your headlights.—Hol-
