pointed by the Governor to serve
as chairman of Ihe Juvenile Court
Commiaaion, out of which Loui
siana Youth Commission was
established at a permanent state
agency in 1950. Judge Barnette
was named first chairman, in
which capacity he served two
yaafs and was re-elected chairman
for the term beginning Jan. 1, 1959
Ife was president of the National
Council of Juvenile Court Judges
in 1953 In September 1960. Judge
Barnette was elected Chairmen of
the National Juvenile Court
Foundation Board of Trustees.
