patent has been granted to Frank
D< Harris and William A. Baker
of Bagwell* this oounty, on a
new machine termed the modern
wheel expander, which is design-
ed to replace the tire setters now
used bj blacksmiths over the
country, the contrivance con-
sists of but two simple parts, and
instead of shrinking the tire raises
the rim of the wheel In a way
which admits of a small metal
washer, or washers, being placed
on the shoulder of the spoke,
tightening seourely the outer
rims of the wheel against the tire.
Gap of the Inventors has been,
engaged In the blacksmith busi-
ness at Bagwell for several years

machines manufactured with
splendid success._
