birthday was a pleasant and on*
joy a hie affair. Despite the had
weather and muddy sidewalk*
the attendance wn* large and all
who were there spent the evening
most pleasantly.
Lloyd Thompson represented
George Washington and Miss
Susie Belle Fall made a neat
beautiful and charming Martha
Washington. They were dressed
in colonial costumes and wrrethe

during the evening.
A number of prizes were given.
Bernie Lee Collins secured the
prize—f**r—putting—the—m***4
cherries off the tree, W, K, Uoss
tha prize for the beet George
Washington story. This was
a case where silence was golden
for since George Washington
never told a story the prize was
awarded to one who had no etory
to tell. The prize was an A B C
etory book. The booby was
awarded to Herman Rose who
told a George Washington yarn
that has never appeared in any
history. Hurst Chadwick and
Mies May Frazer tied in the
hatchet hiding contest and drew
straws, Miss May being the win*
ner. Mrs. J. M. Johnson was
successful in the “What do you
know about George Washington'*
contest.
A nice musical program was
rendered, which included an im
strumental duet by Mrs. O. H.
Butler and MiseBueie Belle Fall,
Vocal solos by Mrs. J. F. Bluch-
er, Mies Kate Kirkley and Mies
Zuma Perkins.
Nice refreshments were served
The entertainment netted about
eighteen dollars.
