Rumor Increased Tension at Mexico
City—Not Generally Believed.
r
City of Mexico, May 19.—Although
government officials deny knowledge
of any- plot to capture or assassinate
Francisco I. Madero, the revolutionary
1 leader, or interfere with him should
he come to the capital, the story that
such a plan had been detected served
today to tighten public tension. Resi-
dents of the capital are speculating
tonight regarding the probable action
of the rebels should they give full
credence to the report, true or not.
It appears to have interested Senor
Madero to an extent that has caused
him to postpone his trip to the capi-
tal to consult with Senor de la, Barra
concerning peace.
