On Tuesday, January 11 the River-
crest JV and Varsity girls and boys
traveled to Prairiland for district com-
petition. Both JV teams were de-
feated by the Patriot teams and both
Varsity teams won their matches with
the Patriots.
On Friday the Lady Rebels and
Rebels played host to the Chisum
Mustangs. In the first game of the
evening the Lady Rebel JV took on
the Lady Mustang J V. Following one
quarter of play the Lady Rebels were
up 12-2. Jessica Rose, Charla Hines,
Shari Wisingerand Brittany Bull had
made the Lady Rebel scores. In the
second Jazz Barnett, Rose, Ashley
Beers,TinaCarderand Bull all scored
to put the Lady Rebels up 21-11 at the
half.
In the final two quarters the Lady
Rebel defense controlled the Lady
Mustangs and scores came from
Carder, Hines, Michelle Bryant, Krys-
tal Valenzuela and Camellia Man-
kins to give the Lady Rebels the win
36-19.
High scorer for the game was Jes-
sica Rose followed by Brittany Bull.
The JV Rebels also had a lead
following the first quarter of their
game, 12-4. Nathan Carroll, Josh
Cabell, Ryan Newton and Justin
F.xum had contributed points. In the
second Newton went on a scoring
drive adding 7 points along with
Steven Shade, Dustin Jones and Exum
who hit his second trey for the
evening. The Rebel defense domi-
nated to end the half with a score of
26-4 Rebels. .
In the final quarters the Rebels
continued to hold the Mustangs and
Carroll, Cabell and Zach Perry added
points. Final 38-16 Rebels.
High scorer for the game was
shared by Nathan Carroll and Ryan
Newton.
The Varsity Lady Rebels did not
fair as well as their JV counterparts.
After one quarter of play the Lady
Rebels trailed 10-13 in an all out war
on the court. Kim Shirley, Missy
Carroll and Tiffany Prentice had
added scores. In the second the Lady
Rebels continued to play possibly the
best game they have played all year
but they could not take the lead. Scores
from Prentice, Carroll and Cassie
Wilcox added 14 points and Wilcox
did an excellent job under the goal on
defense Of the Lady Mustangs tall
post player. Score 24-29 Lady Mus-
tangs.
The Lady Rebels stepped up the
pace in the third. Shirley, Carroll and
Prentice went on a scoring drive and
the Lady Rebel defense all put out
extra effort. The quarter ended with
the Lady Rebels down by one, 45-46
Lady Mustangs. One statement that
must be made is that all the calls
seemed to go against the Lady Rebels
and Missy Carroll and Kim Ross were
lost to fouls in the final quarter. F.rica
Williams and Rachel Case came off
the bench to do an excellent job for
the team and the game went down to
the wire but the Lady Mustangs held
out. Final 59-62 Chisum.
The Varsity Rebels went into their
game with a 21-1 record. The Mus
tangs took first possession of the ball
but Keith Hines was first to score for
the Rebels. Chase Collins, Michael
Galloway and Hines scored during
the quarter and the Rebels were up by
one at the quarters end. In the second
Hines fired up the Rebels fans with a
dunk and Gallowav and Kvle Stansell

sure on the defense. The Rebels held
the Mustangs to 2 points through half
of the third and added 11 points to
their own score from shots made by

game was their strong bench. Bell,

41 Rebels. In the final quarter Kyle
Stansell was lost to foul trouble after
a well played game. Stansell is some-
