The Lady Rebel teams met up
with the Chisum Lady Mustangs
for their first competition in 2002.
The JV Lady Rebels played and
met the challenge. The JV ladies
are really having a good season.
They are fun to watch and always
get after it. Coach Oats is really
doing a super job with the ladies
and they are always competing to
win. They also are to be credited
for their hard work and long hours
the spend in the gym to get better
as players and as a team, but also
to work the varsity. They seem to
always have to be playing de-
fense for the varsity but they never
complain. They are a good group
of ladies and fun to watch. They
will be playing tournaments this
month, so they will be perform-
ing a lot. The JV players who are
dedicated and working hard for
the program are: Alison Foster,
Shari Wisinger, Nikki Jones, Ken-
dra Birchfield, Cassie McCuller,
Kasey Hammonds, Kerri Sim-
mons, Jill Shirley, Stephanie Wil-
liams, Danielle Varner and Paige
Boyd. Keep up the great, hard
work!
The Varsity Lady Rebels also
met the Chisum Lady Mustangs
and as always we knew offensive
rebounds for Chisum would be a
factor in the game. They have
good size girls on the floor and we
had to box out on every shot.
They scored points off this, but
our defense went okay. We ran
zone and tried to really pack it in
so they couldn't go inside for their
offense. They did hit2 three point-
ers on us for the night, but their
focus was the inside game and we
had to control that area. Our of-
fense end is just not clicking at
this time. The ladies are not in
sync with each other, but this week
was a good time to see the ladies
put it all together. The final score
for the Chisum game was 38-56
