Mr. Franks reported 6 senior schol-
arships were given by the organiza-
tion last year for $250.00 each. He
also reported Chapel Hill had con-
tacted him and invited the Talco and
Bogata 3rd and 4th and 5th and 6th
grade girls and boys teams to join
them. Harts Bluff and Winfield this
season.
Should the Rivercrest teams vote
to play in the league, they would have
to travel to Chapel Hill, Winfield and
Harts Bluff the first year as a trial
bases. The other tow ns do not let their
1 st and 2nd students play. Mr Franks
did not commit! but told them he
would present the idea and call for a
vote.
Those present liked the idea of
playing the other towns but wanted
more information about fees, playing
rules etc. New President, Jerry Mer-
chant will contact the league and have
all the answers at the next meeting.
Should the organization vote to enter
the league with the older students, the
younger students will still play at
Talco and Bogata gyms.
The Bogata gym score clock was
discussed and Bobby Thompson
agreed to check the clock out and try
and fix it.
Mr. Franks reported Randy Crane
of Mt. Vernon had contacted him
about making this year's team pic-
tures for the group and Mr. Merchant
will contact him about prices and a
date for pictures.
Regardless of wherethe teams play
it was decided to hold the team draft.
Forms were to be sent home on Mon-
day, Dec. 4 and must be signed, have
entry fee and be returned to each
campus office by Friday, December
8, 2(XX).
As always the "no pass, no play"
rule continues. Students must pass
the 3rd six week in order to partici-
pate. Anyone who pays a fee and
fails to have any children be able to
participate will be refunded their
money. Fees this year are the same as
last year, $10.00 per family. No late
forms will be accepted, if you have a
problem w ith getting your child's form
or fee in contact Jerry Merchant in
Bogata or Nicky Brown in Talco to
make arrangements prior to the dead-
line of December 8, 2(XX).
The group will meet on Saturday,
December 16 at 10:00 a.m. at the
Rivercrest cafeteria to draft teams,
vote on where to play, discuss earn-
ing scholarship fees, vote for
consession stand ofj tcers and coac hes
for the coming season as well as
discussing practice schedules and
playing date. Anyone interested in
coaching or helping out in any way
are urged to attend.
