Exchange Wedding Vows
Bridges Chapel United Methodist
Church was the setting for a tradi-
tional wedding ceremony uniting Miss
Amber Kay Hood and Brent Easley
in wedlock at seven o’clock the even-
ing of Saturday, June 13. The Rev.
Patrick Papp officiated.
‘ Hie bride is the daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Butch Hood of Talco. She attend-
ed Rivercrest High School and is a
student at Northeast Texas Com-
munity College. Mr. and Mrs. S.L.
Easley of Bridges Chapel are the
parents of the bridegroom, a graduate
of Mt. Pleasant High School and
employed by Sam’s Trailr Sales.
Silk roses of burgundy and mauve
highlighted the altar. Two heart-
shaped candelabras were used at ech
corner of the altar with family pews
marked with mauve bows.
; Traditional wedding music was
provided by Mrs. Gordon Nelms. Mrs.
Margaret Johnson, aunt of the bride
of Canton, sang “The Rose” and “The
Twelfth of Never”.
Escorted to the altar by her father
and given in marriage by her parents,
the bride was gowned in a dress with
chapel train of diamond white im-
ported satin. Schiffli embroidered
lace embellished with seed pearls
adorned with shirred fitted bodice
with sweetheart neckline and puffed
sleeves. She wore a satin lattice
crowned hat trimmed with pearsl and
a capnet brim. Chantilly lace with im-
ported silk flowers accented the ar-
rangement with illusion pouf and bow
ifi back.
The bridal bouquet was a cascade
of mauve, white and burgundy roses
with miniature roses, baby’s breath
and satin ribbon streamers of pearls
aind ribbons tied in love knots.
Serving the bride as maid of honor
was RaNell Burns of Bogata. Kelly
Anschutz of Talco was bridesmaid.
The maid of honor’s dress was mauve
ahd the bridesmaids’ of burgundy,
both tea length with drop waist and
bell sleeves. Each carried a lace fan
decorated with mauve and burgundy
roses and streamers of burgundy and
white lace ribbons.
Allison Hanks of Pittsburg, cousin
of the bride and Nikki Fagg of Mt.
Pleasant, niece of the groom, were
flower Bids. One was dressed in white
aqd tho^Ner in pink Their baskets
W$re fu^a with mauve and burgun-
dy and white flowrs.
•The bridegroom in white tuxedo
fjdd white cummerbund and tie, was
ttended by Kenny Phillips of Mt. Plea-
sant as best man and Kent Easley,
brother of the groom, as groomsman.
The best man was attired in a white
tuxedo with mauve cummerbund and
tie. The groomsman was ttired in a
white tuxedo with burgundy cummer-
bund and tie. Ringbearer, Jason
Adams, nephew of the groom, was
dressed in a white tuxedo with
burgundy cummerbund and tie.
Jeff Grisson of Mt. Pleasant, cousin
of the bride, and Chris Eudy of Talco,
served as ushers. Lighting the
candles were Ginger Hood, sister of
the bride, and Mesha Martin.
Immediately following the
ceremony, a reception was held at the
Bridges Chapel Community Center
hosted by the parents of the bride. ■
Silk organdy over white linen
trimmed in white lace was draped to
the floor of the bride’s table. The
bride’s cake was three tier decorated
with mauve roses and doves and top-
ped with miniature bride and groom,
satin burgundy roses and doves.
Punch was served from an antique
crystal punch bowl and crystal and
silver appointments were used.
Chocolate cake with the trailer
decor and coffee from a silver service
were served at the groom’s table
covered with burgundy cloth.
Members of the houseparty includ-
ed Sharon Martin and Mela Carrell of
Hagansport, Amy Hanks of Mt. Plea-
sant, Jeanie Hanks of Talco at the
bride’s table and Shelia Domino,
Sharon Adams and Tammy Pierce
presided at the groom’s table.
Following rehearsal on Friday
evening, June 12, Mr. and Mrs. S.L.
Easley, parents of the groom, hosted
a dinner in honor of the couple at
Western Sizzlin’ Steak House in Mt.
Pleasant. The bride-to-be and
bridegroom-to-be presented gifts to
the wedding party at this time.
Following a wedding trip to Padre
Island, the couple will make their
home in Talco.
Mayes Reunion
To Be Held
The annual Mayes reunion will be
held Sunday, June 28 at the American
Legion Building in Clarksville begin-
ning at noon.
All friends and relatives are invited
to bring lunch and enjoy visiting.

Exchange Wedding Vows
Miss Lisa Gail Ward and Jimmy
DeWayne Via exchanged wedding
vows in a seven o’clock ceremony,
performed by Bro. Dan Hubbell of
Winnsboro on Saturday, June 20 in the
Pine Street Baptist Church in
Winnsboro.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Eldon Ward of Winnsboro. She
is a graduate of the University of
Texas at Tyler and is employed by the
Winfield ISD.
The groom is the son of Mr. and
Mrs. James R. Via of Talco. He is a
graduate of East Texas State Univer-
sity and is employed by Via Well Ser-
vice, Inc. in Tako.
Vows were repeated before an altar
decorated with a fifteen branch brass
candelabra flanked by two brass
heart shaped candelabras. Each
candelabra was trimmed with live
greenery and bows of azalea and
white. The altar railing was
decorated with greenery and the
family pews were marked with
greenery, votive candles and bows of
azalea and white.
Mrs. Jerry Russell played tradi-
tional wedding music. Mrs. Martha
Giddens sang “Just You and I”, “To
Be As One With You” and “The
Lord’s Prayer”.
The bride, given in marriage by her
father, wore a diamond white taffeta
gown with lace bodice trimmed with
beaded silk Venise, pouffed sleeves,
and full skirt accented with lace
through the chapel train. Her head-
piece was of beaded Venise lace with
a fingertip veil, edged with tiny
pearls. The bridal bouquet was a
cascade of light pink and azalea roses
and stephanotas sprinkled with
baby’s breath.
Lisa Draper of Winnsboro was
maid of honor. Bridesmaids were
Missy Ward of Texarkana, AR, cousin
of the bride, Debbie Deen of Wills
Point and Mary Ferguson of Winfield.
The attendants wore tea length
dresses of azalea organza. The fitted
bodice featured a lace ruffle worn off
the shoulders. They carried bouquets
of light pink and azalea roses.
Ashley Ward of Irving, cousin of the
bride, was flower girl. Jacob
McKelvey of Mt. Pleasant was
ringbearer.
Attending the groom as best man
was Dale Jean of Texarkana, AR.
Groomsmen were Phillip McLead of
Irving, Monty Ward of Mt. Pleasant,
cousin of the bride, and Craig Sisk of
Mt. Pleasant.
Ushers were Mark Ward of Winn-
sboro, brother of the bride, and Rkky
Franks of Talco, cousin of the groom.
Candle lighters were Clint Franks of
Talco and Sean Scroggins of Houston,
both cousins of the groom.
Immediately following the
ceremony a reception, hosted by the
bride’s parents, was held in the
fellowship hall of the church.
Members of the houseparty were
Judy McCuller of Mt. Pleasant,
Jackie Moore of Tyler, both sisters of
the groom, and Jerri Ann Hedrick and
Karen Hunter.
Following a wedding trip to Can-
cun, Mexico, the couple will make
their home in Mt. Pleasant.
Mr. and Mrs. James R. Via were
hosts for a dinner on Friday evening
at Lou’s Country Inn in Winnsboro
following the wedding rehearsal.
Gifts were presented to members of
the wedding party at this time.
Local Ladies Visit Branson, Mo.
Mrs. Luella Swaim of Bogata and
Mrs. Ora Pirtle of Johntown met Mrs.
Fredrika Hudson and Mrs. Jean
LaMar of Nocona in Sherman Mon-
day. From there they traveled to
Branson, MO where they enjoyed
many activities including the Freddie
Fender Show and the Roy Clark
Show.
They also saw the production of
“The Shepherd of the Hills” and
many others. They enjoyed the many
beautiful gift shops and the tour
where the characters of the play were
created.
The ladies enjoyed viewing the
countryside during their trip and
returned to Nocona and spent the
night there with Mr. and Mrs. David
Hudson and returned to their homes
Friday.

Reunion Held
The annual family reunion of the
late Robert and Ada Bruce Haley was
held June 13-14 at the home of Geneva
Fuller in Amarillo.

of the road.
