silk organza and bridal satin.
The gown featured a 'Vic-
torian collar, bishop sleeves
and a cathedral train. Her
elbow-length veil of silk Illu-
sion was attached to a floral
headpiece. -She. irrled allow-
ing cascade of white feathered
carnations, pearl daisies and
centered with a large purple
onhid.
Miss Sue Pipes of Avery was
her sister’s maid of honor.
She wore a floor-length A-line
gown of royal purple crepetfi
a Victorian collar and bishop
sleeves. Her purple shoulder-
length veil was attached to a
bow headpiece. Bridesmaids
were Mrs. Linda Mayben of
Grapevine, Miss Sibyl lledge-

groom, of Hughes Springs and

The bride’s parents were
posts for a reception in the
Fellowship Hall of the church
Immediately following the cere-
mony. Miss Betty Lynn Phil-
pot of Hughes Springs presided
at the registry.
The bride’s table was covered
with -a white lace cloth, made
by and given to the bride by the
groom’s aunt, Mrs. Ida Left-
wlch. A tiered candelabra
holding six tapers and Inter-
spersed with purple carnations
and lavender poms centered the
table. The three-tiered white
wedding cake was topped with
a 'miniature bride and groom
and was served with nuts, mints
and punch by Mrs. Troy Buck,
Mrs. Henry Freeman, Miss
Carol Medford andMrs. Mb key
Keener. Miss Gall Morgan of
Hughes Springs distributed rice
bags.
When the couple left for a
wedding trip to Odes.s and Lub-
bock, the bride was attired in a
purple dress and coat ensemble
and wore the orchid from her
aridal bouquet pinned to her
shoulder. They will reside In
Hughes Springs.

Troop 18
Members of Troop 18, re-
cently advanced to the rank of
senior scouts, attended the an-
nual CaFuPu at Beaver’s Bend
State Park last weekend. The
girls went up to the park on
Friday night to prepare activ-
ities for the 200 Cadettes
coming In on Saturday. A
special assignment for the
troop was to welcome the Ca-
dettes and help them locate
their quarters in the camp.
On Saturday Troop 18 con-
ducted a s'emlnar of Cadette
requirements for the large
number of sixth grade girls
attending for the first time.
This seminar was led by
Rhonda Rhodes, patrol leader,
assisted by Janet Kelty, Sheila
Kuhle, Melissa Moody, Jo
Alice Rushing, and Jayne Ann
Bryant.
Girls were taken to camp
by Mrs. W. D. Rhodes, leaner

Twelve senior girls were
honored with a surprise break-
fast Saturday morning, May 15,
at the home of Mrs, Johnny
Jamison, assisted by Mrs. Earl
King and Elizabeth. Those at-
tending were Debbie Bale,
Peggy Bogess, Glenna Ward,
Paula Varley, Carlene Roberts,
Patsy Westfall, Vickie Storey,
Kathv Underwood, Debbie and

at Midway on May 7.
Mrs. Earl Legate was chosen
as the dub’s senior citizen.

Gatlin of Woodland and Mrs.
Austin Kudy of Pattonvllle, had

Gatlin talked on cultural art
recreation, read a poem and led
