Elect Officers
The Brady 4-H Boys, who have
chosen "Wildlife" as a demon-
stration for the *61-’62 season,
met Nov. 9 at 3:30 at the Scout
House.
Mrs. Billie Johnson, leader,
called the meeting to order. Of-
ficers were elected for the sea-
son as follows: president, Terry
Carter; vice-president; Barry My-
rlck; secretary, Steve Wilson;
reporter, Fred Huffman.
The next meeting will be held
Nov. 16 at 3:30.

their game, 37-21.
The Steers wers led to victory
by Carl Routt with 24 point*. He
was followed by Charlie Reed with
18, Nat Harris with 12, Johnnie
Reed with 9, and Charlie Brown
with 6.

team were Harold Williams, 8;
Raymond Crawford, 8; Alfred
Reed, 8; Elizia William* 8, and
Nat Harris, 4.
The Steeerttes broke s losing
streak in downing the Colorado
City girls. Mary Welch led the
Dunbar scoring with 16 points;
followed by Birdia Williams with
8; Beverly Harris, 8; and Bertha
Lott, 5.
The Steers, as of now undefeat-
ed, are playing this year under
a new coach, Robert Bradshaw.
The Steerettcs also have a new
coach, Miss Precious Hervey.
Thursday night of this week the
Steers had a date in Ballinger.

The Rsv. J. J. Jordan, pastor
of tha First Baptist Church of
Brady, and Ley oe* ter Moore,
Brady Baptist laymen, ware elect-
ed to institutional boards of the
Baptist General Convention of
Texas during the concluding ses-
sion of tha convention’s moating
in Austin last week.
Moore was re-elected to the
board of trustees for Howard
Payne College. Brownood, one of
eight colleges and universities
owned by the Texas Convention.
The Rev. Mr. Jordan waa
elected to the Executive Board of
the Baptist General Convention
of Texas.
The 192-member board is com-
posed of pastors, layman and
women from throughout the state.
It meets four times a year to
conduct the denomination’s busi-
ness between annual sessions.

Dies in Kerrville
Game $et Record
At Fredericksburg:
The Brady - at - Fredericksburg
game last week brought in $3,-
089.76 at the gate, a new record
for Brady in a non-playoff game.
Receipts at the Lake View
game were $2,998.06, topping last
year’s record of $2,766.60 at
Llano.
The best home game for the
Bulldogs this year was with Ma-
son, $2,137.76, Supt C. A. Rey-
nolds reported.
The schools split the receipts
after paying the officials’ fee3.
Brady’s half of the Fredericks-
burg gate was $1,469.36.
Ira Curtis Pointer, 80, of 904
South Pine, Brady, died at 6:30 p.
ra. Tuesday in a Kerrville hos-
pital.
Bom April 20, 1881, he was a
stockfarmer and had lived in Mc-
Culloch County all his life. He
had been in the Kerrville hospital
10 days.
Mr. Pointer and the former
Effie Loraine Penn were mar-
ried Dec. 26, 1901.
The Rev. Harry Bamberger,
pastor of the First Methodist
Church, conducted the funeral at
10 a. m. Thursday at Wilkerson
Chapel, and burial was in the
Cox Cemetery.
Survivors are his wife; three
sons, Curtis Pointer of Kerrvilla,
J. D. Pointer of Odessa, and Sid-
ney J. Pointer of Lelia Lake,
Tex.; two daughters, Mrs. Lorene
Cawyer of Brady and Mrs.
Charles A. Quist of San Antonio;
nine grandchildren and 10 great-
grandchildren; and a brother, O.
V. Pointer of Brownwood.

Reynold Carlson, son of Mrs.
Novice Carlaon of 300 South Col-
lege, Brady, and Rebecca Hare,
daughter of the Rev. and Mrs.
Charles Hare of Rochelle, were
Initiated into Alpha Chi, national
honor organization, at McMurry
College. Carlson Is slaetd to be
vice-ipresldent of McMurry honor

A senior chemistry major, Carl-
son Is a member and vice presi-
dent of Chi Omlcron, campus
men's social club. In his fresh-
man year at McMurry he was
presented the Freshman Chemis-
try Award, given to the outstand
ing freshman chemistry student.
Miss Hare, a junior history ma-
jor, Is a member of Alpha PI
Alpha, campus women's social
club. She is gUo-* member of the
Totem (campus yearbook) staff
and of the Qalleon (campus lit-
erary magazine) staff.

junior and senior members of the
Student Satiate, and students pre-
viously elected to Who’s Who.
Qualifications for membership
were scholastic ability, leader-
ship in extra-curricular activities,
potential for future service to
•oclety, and character. Twenty-
six student leaders were chosen.
Bench, a Bible major and his-
tory minor, was president of the
junior class. Active in tha Bap-
tist Student Union, he Is now
serving as Enlistment Chairman.
