Easy for Brady
Folks in Houston
“Where Is This?” said the words
under a picture of the McCulloch
County courthouse m Brady.
"You can imagine my pleasant
surprise when I came across this
picture in The llous'on Chronicle
a few day* am*," writes Carl
Scoggin from Houston.
• • •
“Needless to say, I did not have
to turn the paper upside down to
know where it was.”
The lines identifying the court-
house were printed upside down
in the paper: “Know-n as the
'Heart of Teggs,' this is the Mc-
Culloch County courthouse at
Brady, built In 1691*. It Is sltuat
ed 17 miles south of Mercury, which
is considered the geographical
heart of the state The courthouse
has long boon a landmark familiar
to West Texas travelers."
• • •
The Chronicle’s “puxxle picture"
undoubtedly was cnxily recognized
by many other Brady folk* in big
Houston.
