and delicious refreshments weie

and all kinds of cake. Besides a
beautiful cake was served by Mrs.
John Karm. And many ^present
was presented. Games ot all kinds
were played and a dance was con-
tinued until a late hour. The
music was furnished by Theo.
Karm and Ktchard Carpenter of
Bello.
Sunday a nice dinner was also
spread. At leave taking all outbid
Mr. Karm many more returns oi

Mr. and Mrs. John Horton have
a fine boy at their home, their sec-
ond. The young man arrived last
night aod John is stepping high.
Archie Hedges paid ns in fall
last week for his Daily Record aod
subscribed for the. Weekly to follow
him to Bellville, Ark., for which
point he expects to leave this week.

Wm. Gob met t returned last
week from a business visit to,
Westhoff and says that little town

Miss Anna Nagel is back from
Waco, where she has been attend-
ing business college. She is now
in charge of the books of the Nagel
Hardware Co. and is in possession
of a diploma for stenography and
typewriting as well as bookkeeping.

Dr. Theo. Buehrig of Nordheim
was over today with a patient, a
man who fell while getting off a
moving train at Nordheim last
The DeWltt County Teachers’
fust lute opened at 9 o’clock this
morning. The work was divided
into two sections, intermediate and
primary, Messrs. C. A. Peterson
and Fleming will conduct the latter
department and Messrs. M. V.
Peterson and Hugh Williams the
intermediate. Prof. Peterson pie-
slding in the morning and Prof.
Williams in the afternoon. Nearly
all the teachers cf the county are
present, the enrollment this morn-
ing numbering eighty-nine. A
most interesting and instructive
program has been prepared and the
work will be of great advantage to
all who are in attendance;

A Pleasant Evening.
One of the most enjiyabie social
affairs of the past week took place
Thursday evening at the home ot
Mrs. Ed Dletze, the event being
her birthday anniversary. A num-
ber of her married friends assembled
a# her home to spend a pleasant
evening with her. The different
rooms were artistically decorated
io cat dowers and terns. At a
proper hour refreshments ot cream,
cake and trait were served which

was highly complimented. Mrs.
Dletze was assisted by Mesdames'
Ed Knnitz and Albert Dletze.
After refreshments were served
pleasant conversations were in-
dulged in aod thus a most delight-
ful and long to be, remembered
