8 Candidates In
Stiff Competition
Throughout Week
Final plans are being made by
the Student Council this week
for the Campus Carnival that is
ber 30th.
Highlight of the evening will
be the crowning of the Harvest
King and Queen for 1953. Classes
met recently and nominated their
candidates. Campaigning posters
began appearing on the campus
early last week.
Candidates from the senior
class are Lee Mitchell and
Ira Lee Henslee. Frances Mil-
ler and David Pippen are be-
ing sponsored by the juniors.
Nominated by the sopho-
mores to represent their class
were Sylvia Rundell and Ed-
die Rogers. Jane Ellis and
Bennie McCollum make up
the freshman team.
At the carnival every class
club and organization will spon-
sor a booth. Besides these enter-
tainment features several types
of refreshments will be avail-
able. Clubs and classes were busy
last week readying their various
booths. A. J. Quinn student coun-
cil member said this week that
this year's carnival should be one
of the best yet.

SHOW SET FOR
NOVEMBER 12TH
Junior Varsity Show got
underway Thursday night in
Mims Auditorium with a cast
Df about 35 juniors in attend-
ance. Date for the producton has
been set for Thursday night
November 12 at 8:00 p. m.
Bobby Parsons the show's gen-
eral chairman has stated that
this year's program will be un-
like any that has ever been
staged.
Tickets went on sale this
week according to Ticket
Chairman Jerry Wilson. Every
junior is required to sell ten
tickets. Price of the ducats has
been set at thirty-five cents.

strument ensemble will pro-
vide background music.
Chairmen of the various sub-
committees for the event in-
clude Joyce Garner Norman
Fisher Henry Burton and Dale
Gore. Prof. Clyde Vinson is the
faculty sponsor.
