Song dance and synchronized swimming cap
dazzling tenth year at AXPZX talent show

Delta Chi Rho and Zeta Chi
packed in a full house in Mims
Auditorium Friday Sept. 23 as
they held their annual Talent
Show.
The ten act show kicked off at
8:00 p.m. with emcees Candace
Haynie and Grant Kinser start-
ing the show.
The first act on the stage was
"You Just Thought White Trash
was Dead" a skit featuring Holli
Cobb Lauren Orr Kat Parsons
and Zack Watkins.
Next the emcees introduced
Alicia Chesser who sang "In
Christ Alone." Kevin Jacobs en-
tertained the audience with the
song "Love."
The fourth act was called
"The Harmonious Howard
Payne Paddlers" performed by
Katie Ellwood Cassie Hoyer
Maria Flores Shandra Spark-
man Ashley Hayes Reagan
Simmons Jennifer Thompson
Heather Gadsby Andrea Dale
Kate Whitney and Shannon
Kelly. Lisa Duncan followed their
act with the song "At Last."
Brian Potter was the sixth act
performing his own beat poetry
and was followed by Heather
Fuller who sang "My Redeemer
Lives"
After Miss Fuller April Bena-
vides Laura Busha Cory Lee
Caty Skinner Melissa Wilson
Rachel Chapman Emily Stull
and Sumer DeGraffenried per-
formed a rendition of the popular
television show "So You Think
You Can Dance."
The final two acts were "The
Spirit of the Lord" by Kirk House

and "Hit Me with Your Best
Shot" sung by Bethany Russo
and her band including Chris
Rosorborough on guitar Matt
Byrd on bass and Jason Smith
on drums.
In between acts Grant Kinser
and Candace Haynie entertained
the audience with jokes stories
and embarrassing moments.
After the acts were over judg-
es Dr. Brad Johnson Mrs. Carla
Hawkins and Dr. Dean Bean
finalized the first second and
third places.
After careful consideration
the three envelopes were hand-
ed to the emcees. Then the an-
nouncement was made: third
place went to the Harmonious
Howard Payne Paddlers sec-
ond went to Lisa Duncan and
first went to the act "Hit Me with
Your Best Shot."
"This is my fifth year to judge
and I'm always amazed by the
extraordinary talent of our stu-
dents" said Dr. Bean who is the
university councilor and profes-
sor of psychology.
"It's a good activity to give
students a break from school
to have a little fun" said Cassie
Hoyer student body president.
"I enjoyed seeing all the stu-
dents participate and the par-
ents being here. The parents
coming here makes it even more
special than it already is. Con-
gratulations to Delta Chi Rho
and Zeta Chi on a great event"
said Dr. Johnson.
"It is a tradition to bring in-
volvement to the student body"
said Delta Chi Rho's Danielle
Harrell. "The Talent Show has
been entertaining Howard Payne
for the past ten years."

to the Mims stage to win the 2005 Delta Chi RhoZeta Chi
talent show. She sang "Hit me with your best shot."
