Greek tragedy to a HPU stage
in nine years.
Community support includes
Garrett and Bryson Wells.
Garret a seventh-grader and
Bryson a second-grader are
the sons of Brad and Sheri
Wells (Sheri is the CAPS and
Career Services Coordinator
at HPU) and portray the part of
Jason and Medea's children.
Emily Rives a senior at Early
High School is co-stage man-
ager for the play.
Colin Henson a freshman
Cross Cultural Studies major
also co-manages the produc-
tion and has been a repeat to
the HPU Theatre. Other HPU
students returning to the stage
include Daniel K. Gonzales
as Jason Natalie Palscak as
Medea Leanne Bledsoe as
the Chorus Chad Musgrove
as the Tutor Steve Ellingsen
as Creon Josh Houser as
Aegeus and Brandon
Thomasy as the Messenger.
Making her debut appear-
ance on the campus stage is
senior English and Political
Science major Andrea
Montgomery as the Nurse.
Also four members of the HPU
Athletic department - Craig
Blackmon Aaron Alvarado
Travis Cuff and Ramiro Garza
III -are cast as slaves.
One of the notable aspects
of HPU's production will the
use of an original musical
score composed by student
Joseph Dunlap. In addition
the chorus is composed of
only one person usually per-
formed by a group of approxi-
mately 13-15 persons who act
as narrator for Greek theatre
especially Greek tragedy. A
final interesting fact is this will
be Tate's first directing experi-
ence at HPU.
"This has been a well round-
ed university experience for
the students and community
members and it pleases me
to no end" said Tate describ-
ing how much he has enjoyed
the experience of directing the
production.
