Chapter officers
Officers and two members or the ACU
chapter of Students of Texas Recreation
and Parks Society attended tho state
convention Oct. 13-15 in Waco.
Officers of the newly formed chapter are
Burt Ferguson senior recreation major
from Norman.Okla. president; Cindy
Shaw junior recreation major from El
Paso vice president; Karie Graves junior
physical education major from Fort
Worth secretarytreasurer; and
Margaret Vlnlng senior recreation major
from Ignaclo Colo. reporter.
Angela Harris Junior recreation major
from Richardson and Drcnda Jennings
graduate student from Clarksvillc also
attended the convention.
Alumni Board meeting
The Alumni Board will meet Saturday at
8 a.m. in Mabec Library Auditorium said
Gwynneth Curtis director of alumni ac-
tivities. Representatives from the 83 alumni
boards across the United States will at-
tend sad Curtis.
Those attending will select the Out-
standing Alumnus of the Year and three
people to receive Alumni Citation Awards
Curtis said. The Outstanding Alumnus will
receive the award on Alumni Day during
Lectureship he said.

Camp Shiloh director
Tony Luplnacci the director of Camp
Shiloh. will be In the Campus Center
Monday through Wednesday to talk with
students interested in working as camp
counselors this summer
Since 1937 Camp Shiloh has been a
Christian summer camp for disad-
vantaged children who have come from
low Income areas in New York City.
A breakfast for interested students will
be conducted at 7 a.m. Tuesday In the
Faculty Staff Lounge.
Carol Birch lectures
The art department will host Carol Birch
Brown artist and graduate of ACU
Friday for a lecture.
Brown whose collection is currently on
display in the Shore Art Gallery will speak
in the Shore Art Gallery at 2 p.m. Friday
The lecture is free and open to anyone
interested In attending said Dr. Brent
Green head of the art department.
Halloween skating party
The Cultural Excellence Organization
will sponsor a Halloween skating party
Oct. 31 at 8:30 p.m. at West Texas
Skateways on Shclton.
The party will include a costume
competition and priies will be given for
different categories. The cost .will be $2
each.
Long Beach preacher
Randy Mayeux minister of the 37th and
Atlantic Church of Christ In Long Beach
Calif. will speak Oct. 25 at 7 p.m. In the
Living Room of the Campus Center
Students interested in learning more
about the work of the church In Long
Beach are especially invited to attend.
Bookstore hours
The bookstore will open one hour earlier
Saturday for the Homecoming said James
Fulbright manager of tho bookstore.
The bookstore will open at 8 a.m. and
stay open until 1 p.m. ho said.
