The Big Purple Band and Orchestra
Patrons will have a breakfast in the Main
Room of the Campus Center Oct. 23 at 8-
9:30 A.M.. said John Whltwell ACU
director of bands.
At the breakfast Everette Maxwell
director of the Lubbock Christian High
School band and former Big Purple
member will receive a citation from the
band's alumni for being the "Most
Distinguished Alumnus of the Year."
Whltwell said.
Whltwell said the breakfast will be the
first general meeting of the organization.
"I'm expecting approximately 390 people
to attend" WMtwetl said.
"The organization's purpose is not Just
to raise money" Whitwell said. Their
main function will he to keep the band and
orchestra alumni W armed of current and
future activities of each group. Whltwell
said.
WhKweH said the organization will
coordinate fund raising programs to help
raise money (or scholarship endowments.
