abiding citizen of Latvia until
1940, when Russian soldiers

Kremlin unseated the govern-
ment of his country. Latvia
was transformed Into a colony
of the Soviet Union, property
was confiscated, homes broken
up apd able men put In labor
camps. All this happened to
the speaker, but through a long
set of circumstances he and Ids
family came to America In 1949
through the ‘.‘Displaced Person
Bill.”
