"Corky" Courrege claims that someone tap-
ped him on the shoulder the other night
ana whispered, "Let’s gOo" Eager-beaver
Corky then jumped out of bed and into his
clothes, and made his way by the light of
a full moon straight to the Mess Hall,
where he arrived a little after midnight«
It was too early to start preparing
breakfast at that time, even for the
night owl guardSo
Sgto Whitcomb and his wife Radie have
discovered that there is more to marriage
than the honeymoono They were seen dash-=
ing madly around the food store in Eagle
Pass, seeking information about the point
Big Game Hunter of Section A is S/Sgtc
"Grandma" Rash who bagged three mice in
the supply room the other night« He must
have qualified on the pistol rangeo
Jackie Watkins has been telling tall
tales concerning his experiences with the
women while home on furlougho After
spending the evening with one girl, he
returned home with poison ivy0 Jackie
got a hop from this Field, arrived home
in West Virginia before his furlough be-
gan, and returned to his barracks with a
bigger and better picture of his best
girl.
The movies always show a top-kick as be-
ing about as popular as Herr Hitler 0o«
but when lst/Sgto McDonald made his first
public appearance after his furlough at
the physical inspection last week, he re-
ceived a round of applauseo
A couple of weeks ago the readers of this
column were queried concerning 11 what up-
and-coming young Cplo was seen being
carried into his barracks after imbibing
a couple of (actually six) 302*8 the
other eveningoM An appropriate counter-
question would be, "what up-and-coming
young S/Sgt* of the Public Relations
Office got happy after imbibing 1 (one)
bottle of brew o’*
The boys in the NCO barracks must be a
little too rough for lst/Sgto McDonald0 .
He has now taken up residence with the
His bunk mates in Barracks 1802 noticed
with growing suspicion how Sgto Wanchism
stealthily opened his locker, took out
his canteen and drank from it, greedily
and guiltilyo After watching him quietly
for awhile, the boys suddenly decided to
investigate© Even in the heat of the
afternoon, they thought, some rum or
scotch would not be bado When he went to
the latrine the boys saw their chance;
they scrambled to his locker, opened
Charlie^s canteen and sniffedo They dis-
covered nothing that way, so one of them
decided to try a shoto He did, and was
treated to a mouthful of ice water0
Cplo Ferguson of the Classification Of-
fice has known three branches of service
during the short time that he has spent
in the Armyo Before his transfer to the
Air Corps, he was a Quartermaster soldier
and a doughboy0 In addition to those ex-
periences, Cplo Ferguson spent a short
time in the Army, assigned to no branch,
just before he entered the Air Corps®
Pvto Goodson seemed to be the most con-
cerned of all the fire fighters last Sun-
day morningo When he heard that the fire
was close to the stables, he bolted out
of bed, ran to the scene of the fire, and
was not heard from until late Sunday
afternoon, when he returned to the bar-
racks, exhausted and blackened with
smokeo Goodson loves those horses that
he cares for during the day0
