In thin our present life we a
thrbugh n glass darkly. We cannot
understand why death hag suddenly
lake n away Dr. J. M. Arnettc a man
of transcendent life and character
and nobly useful in a field of larjre
service. His equipment for worthy
work was attested by degrees from
three great Institutions Wake Forest
the Southern Baptist Theological
Seminary and the University of
North Carolina from which he recelv-
cd the degree of Doctor of Phlloso-
nhv: bv mnnvycara of cxnerlcnce and
achievement; and by unimpeachable
integrity. I hat he should be called
away from home and family from a
host of friends and associates and
from a high task that wan blessing
many lives seems to us a tragedy.
But to those who sorrow comfort will
come through the promises of God's
Eternal World.
To our beloved friend and colleague

this great loss we wish to express our

THAT FAMOUS CONTINUED
STORY
(Chapter 13)
And tho first thing I knew was
that tho ship had sunk. Now can you
imagine my embarrassment when I
found but that I didn't have on any-
thing to speak of I couldn't speak of
it as there were several ladies pres-
ent. The small children flocked
around me and the birds began to
soar. The old man climbed the hill
with n stoop but nevertheless the
stoop got there. Tho nasty ole fox
scrambled up the bank and barked out
in a voico that sounded like a call to
dinner in. the after world "So it is
you oh?" And the voice that an-
swered from the pack of tearing
snarling puppy dogs hummed like
thunder clashes on yon mountain
"Who me?"
Moral; Christmas i3 coming on the
run; look out installment man here I
come.
Earth produces nothing worse than
an ungrateful man. Ausonius.
