Sunday afternoon at 3 o’clock
Miss Sallie Payne of Omen and
Mr. R E. L. Wood of Overton
were united in the holy bonds ol
wedlock. Rev. Hughs of our
city performed the ceremony
which took place at the home ol
the bride’s parents and was wit
nr ssed by only a few friends and
relatives.
Miss Payne is the second
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe
Payne, of that common sense,
\omanly type of girls to whom
nankind can not help paying the
lighest tribute of esteem and
•espect She is well known in
Troupe aud in fact throughout
his part of the county, and her
friends are numbered by the
hundreds
Mr Wood is an enterprising
young man of Overton and is
hghly esteemed by his wide cir-
cle of friends and acquaintances.
The Banner, haviug known his
tonnie bride from her early
childhood, congratulates him up-
on the aquisition of a companion
if such sterling worth.
Mr. and Mrs. Wood are mak-
ing their bridal tour to Oaltem
ton, s/ter which they will be at
home in Overton.
The Snappiest Thing
we have read lately is the full
page ad of Tipton Brothers in
this issue of the Banner. They
are actually going to close their
store for two days to cut down
the prices on a 110,(KX) sU*ek ol
goods—this is an unheard-of
thing.
