Johnnie Mae Svrcek
A miscellaneous shower was
held Sunday, Aug. 19, at St.
John's Recreation Hall in Fay-
etteville, honoring Miss John-
nie Mae Svrcek, bride-elect
of Leslie Gene Brokmeyer.
As the future bride entered
the hall she was showered with
rice and presented with a lav-
ender orchid corsage. White
gardenia corsages tied with
yellow satin bows were pre-
sented to the mothers of the
couple, Mrs. Johnnie H. Svr-
cek and Mrs. Clemens W.
Brokmeyer.
Yellow streamers decorated
the white covered gift table
which had a white square cen-
terpiece holding a bride doll
which was being showered
with artificial rain from a yel-
low decorated springling can.
Mrs. Wilfred Jurecka regis-
tered the gifts. Assisting Miss
Svrcek in opening the many
lovely gifts were Misses The-
resa Svrcek, Sharon Svrcek,
Dolores Jo Svrcek, Frances
Svrcek, Madelyn Brokmeyer,
Genevieve Brokmeyer, Marga-
ret Brokmeyer, Susan Von
Minden and Annivea Stokon
of Houston.
Approximately 150 guests
were present and enjoyed a
delicious lunch of chicken sal-
ad sandwiches, potato chips,
cakes, pickles, kolaches, cof-
fee and ice tea.
Hostesses for the delightful
courtesy were Mesdames Wil-
burn Von Minden, Johnnie
Becka, John W. Kovar, Lam-
bert Skubal, Darvin Brokme-
yer, Lad Jurecka, Bernard
