recommending that your fellow
alumni make the best investment

selves and particularly for their

made by the Texas Commission
on Jiigtter Education which
showed the average salaries of
full professors in Texa's state-
supported institutions were $2000
lower annually than the average
of comparable out-of-state col-
leges and universities. This causes-
many of the best teachers to leave
Texas and to take with them
many of the best students.
CLASP General Chairman
Briggs Todd described CLASP as
"an effective answer to one of our
nation's vital needs the expan-
sion of our facilities for advanced
education. Moreover the pro-
gram is highly attractive since it
not only gives all participating
schools the advantage of a unified
effort but also allows each school
to help itself."
Todd also said that since there
is no pooling of money each
school keeps the money it raises.
Fourteen schools are taking part
in Abilene CLASP. ACC is serv-
ing as the host institution. H-SU"
and McMurry are also CLASP
members.
