Modern indirect lighting
fixtures installed in the main
building; bus garage and main
building repainted inside and
out; walks constructed be-
tween main building and cafe-
teria; indoor restrooms with
modem fixtures installed in
main building; new chair-type
student desks, teachers’ desks
and an office desk provided;
approximately $240 worth of
library books purchased; add-
itional teaching aids, includ-
ing a world map and globe,
purchased; new slide and
swings installed on play-
ground; atheltic equipment for
physical education purchased;
butane heaters added to re-
place wood-burning stoves;
drinking fountains and pres-
sure pump installed; new win-
dow shades and curtain added
to visual aids room; and an ac-
tive P-TA has been organized.
The report noted that, at the
time of the accreditation visit,
enrollment had decreased
since the 1959-60 year; how-
ever, the school population is
expected to double by the be-
ginning of the second semes-
ter with the enrollment of
migratory students.
In conclusion, Mr. Cate’s
report said: “Progress made
during the past year is a cre-
dit to both school officials and
I patrons of the Cistern school.”
