Nancy Huebel Weds
Randy Mach Saturday
Miss Nancy Lee Huebel, dau-
ghter of Mr. and Mrs. Lee F.
Huebel, and Randy Mach, son
of Mr. and Mrs. Victor Mach of
Flatonia, were married in Mt.
Calvary Lutheran church at
eight o’cl Tck Saturday even-
ing. Rev. T. H. Graalmann per-
formed the double ring cere-
mony.
Arrangements of white glads
and yellow mums and altar
candles decorated the altar.
Theo. Schroeder provided the
wedding music.
Given in marriage by her fa-
ther, the bride was attired in
a formal gown of heavy peau
de soie and lace. The lace bo-
dice dipped into the skirt at the
hipline and sequins outlined
the neckline, the front panel of
the long sleeved bodice and the
edge of the lace where it joined
the skirt. The floor length skirt
had three self-fabric roses at
the back from which fell a
train. A small pearl and sequin
crown held the short illusion
veil. The bride’s bouquet was
centered with an orchid.
Miss Shirley Ann Huebel
served as maid of honor and
Miss Jarol Jean Huebel was
bridesmaid. Both are sisters of
the bride. They were gowned
in pale yellow imported bro-
caded satin fashioned with long
sleeved bodices that had round-
ed necklines in front dipping to
a v in the back, and bell skirts
with self fabric roses at the
front waistline. Their hats were
large self fabric roses attached
to circles of net, their shoes
were dyed to match and they
carried bouquets of yellow
mums.
I The groom was attended by
his brothers of Flatonia with
Douglas Mach serving as best
man and Ken Mach as grooms-
man. The bride’s brother, Har-
vey Huebel, and George Katz
of Houston were the ushers.
The bride’s mother chose a
beige ribbonette sheath with
matching hat and gloves and
I pearls. The groom's mother
Mrs. Werner G. Zapp and
Mrs. Joe C. Calvit of Houston
spent Friday visiting with their
brother, Mr. and Mrs. H. T.
Carter and family.
wore a white and blue floral
dress with blue linen coat. Both
mothers wore carnation corsa-
ges.
A reception followed the ce-
remony at the Cottonwood Inn.
The wedding cake was two
linking rings topped with two
wedding bells and a bride and
groom and was trimmed with
yellow roses. The bride’s sis-
ter, Mrs. N. E. Purgerson,
served the cake, Miss Barbara
Castellow of Austin served the
punch, Miss Gay Alff of Austin
presided at the coffee service,
and Miss Sally Rosipal, also of
Austin, assisted in serving the
guests who were registered by
Miss Mary Jane Nietsche, cou-
sin of the bride.
For travel the bride selected
a gold wool suit and brown al-
ligator accessories and she
wore the orchid from her bou-
quet as her corsage. She is a
1961 graduate of La Grange
High school and has been em-
ployed in Austin by the Texas
Highway Department.
Mr. Mach graduated from the
Flatonia High school and is
now employed by Continental
Enco Co. in Houston where the
couple will make their home at
7444 Sante Fe St.

MONTE CARLO-The 83rd Monte
Carlo Rallye started with 299 car*.
Some 2,700 miles and 3)1 days later,
only 163 were still in the rally when the
field struggled into Monaco—but they
included all eight of the specially
equipped Falcons that originally started!
Ttuseight-out-of-eight record was per-
haps more remarkable than the tact
that, despite a handicap formula that
favored the smallest cars, a Falcon cap-
tured second place overall. One car can
have luck . . . but eight have to have
total performance. Because the Rallye
samples every variety of weather and
road conditions the continent can pro-
vide, and because it winds up on the
moat remote byways in the French
Maritime Alps, it ia a supreme test of
all (he car’s abilities. Falcon steering had
to be flawless on glare ice above a 1,000-
foot drop. Those fabulous V-8’s had to
run like dynamos.
The final results in the Monte Carlo
Rallye gave Falcon 2nd place overall,
1st in ("ass 8 of the Touring category,
1st and 2nd in Class 5 of the much
tougher Grand Touring category, 1st
and 2nd in the final three-lap test on
tbs Monts Carlo circuit. The best finish
by a Valiant was 88th overall. Falcon
rained invaluable experience in how to
Build a car better, make it tougher,
sharper up its total performance. That's
the real reason Ford ia interested in
open competition—and why Ford-built
cars have got so much more to show
drivers. Drive one and see; it won’t
have six lights, or a hom you can hear
for four miles in stormy weather, or
the other special rally equipment—
but it'll sure surprise youl
