I
A me stage came Tuesday from Mr.
flomer If. Wade of Btamford, repre-
senting the Went Teia* Chamber of
Commerce, stating that petition of the#
Wfchifa Valley for diccontinuance of
the night trains had been refuted by
the Railroad Commission, and the train*
will be kept on.
Thi* action will meet with hearty
approval on the part of those who live
adjacent to thl* road. And thank* *re
due the men who went to Austin, in-
cluding Mr. K. K. Hank in of thi*
elty, for their effective work in help-
ing to keep on the»« train*.
It la not the de*ire of thoac who re-
side along the Wichita Valley to see
this line lose any money, but if the
night trains can be operated without
a loss, which appeared to be brought
out at tWe hearing, then all will ap-
preeiate having the convenience of the
night train*. Tlielr absence would be
a financial loss to fhe town* along the
route.

In Memory of G. B. Morris
Tread softely, do not breath too
loud u sigh,
Gaze on hi* *miie and thou »
wilt cense to moan,
For he was prepared to meet
Id* Master, and now ha*
passed away.
Our own dear friend like some bright
star, shown upon life's wave, then
gently dropt, into the crimson rest.
Like some fair flower that sweetest
perfiimhs gave, whose petals then were
softely, laid to rest.
Like some glad ream of fleeting sum-
mer tide, that breathed of summer
nourished with the May.
Like some sweet song that with the
twilight died, those silvery tone* have
passed away.
And from our heart* of silent grief
the mighty tide of speech. ,
Would madly root, yet in this hour it
could not bring relief.
For heart must speak, to heart, and
soul to soul.
And a* we stand above onr sleeping
friend we cannot think hint gone.
