OF HEALTH
Keeping Dust Down
(NAPS)—A growing number of
Americans are breathing easier
because more towns and counties
across the country are finding^
ways to keep dust down on
unpaved roads. When the dust is
down, the air is cleaner and
healthier, clothes stay cleaner, and
drivers on those roads have better
visibility.
Without dust control an un-
paved road with even moderate
traffic will lose as much as 300 tons
of aggregate per mile per year. As
aggregate is lost, the quality of the
road deteriorates quickly. On the
other hand, it’s been found that if
that road has been treated with
LlQUIDOW® liquid calcium chloride,
there will be a reduction of aggre-
gate losses of up to 75 to 80 per-
cent. Simply put, liquid calcium
chloride holds down the dust longer
and doesn’t have to be re-applied as
often as other dust control agents.
And it also helps maintain the
roads. This saves taxpayers money.
If your local unpaved roads are
still dusty, ask your township road
commission to investigate the ben-
efits of liquid calcium chloride.
