C.S. Green, age 76, of Ar-
cher City, Texas passed away
Wednesday, October 12, 2011,
in the Archer City Nursing
Center.
Graveside services were held
at 4:00 p.m. Friday, October
14, 2011, in the Archer City
Cemetery with Gary Beesinger
of Archer City officiating. Ar-
rangements were under the di-
rection of Aulds Funeral Home
of Archer City.
C.S. was born January 22,
1935 in Whiteright, Texas to
Clarence Clifton Green and
Nora Eulaha Hawkins Green.
After graduation, he moved to
Amarillo where he owned and
operated Palo Duro Window
Cleaning Service. He moved
to Archer City in 1984 and
was employed by Larry’s Tank
Truck Service. He then went
to work for Archer County as
the maintenance man until his
retirement in January 2000.
He was a member of the Ar-
cher City American Legion
Post 198 and had served as com-
mander. He enjoyed playing
golf and loved his soap opera,
“The Young & The Restless.”
Survivors include one daugh-
ter, Kara Richardson and hus-
band Billy of Wheeler, Texas;
one son, Paul Green and wife,
Marsha of Tennessee Colony,
Texas; one brother Bill Green
and wife, Margaret of Fort
Worth; one sister, Jo Waldrop of
Telephone, Texas; eight grand-
children, David Green, Bai-
ley, Brody, Blayne, and Bryce
Richardson, Crystal, Monica
and Paul Green; and three great-
grandchildren, Jenna, Breanna
and Natalie Green.
He was preceded in death by
one brother, Clarence Rayburn
Green.
In lieu of flowers, the fam-
ily suggests memorials to the
American Legion, Post 198,
P.O. Box 1001, Archer City,

Celebrate 50 Years
James B. (Jim) & LeAnn My-
ers celebrated their 50th wed-
ding anniversary October 8,
2011 at the Wildcatter Ranch in
Graham, Texas with family and
friends. They were married on
October 7, 1961.
Their children are Will &
Monna Myers of Holliday;
Deborah Myers Bockhoff of
Fort Worth; David & Gretchen
Myers McKinney of Albu-
querque, NM; and Sarah My-
ers Harris of Fort Worth. They
have 9 grandchildren and 1
great-grandchild.
Jim Myers is a self employed
farmer, rancher, and oil opera-
tor. He is Director Olney Inter-
bank, Olney & Graham Down-
town Men’s Bible Class. He is
a member of the First Baptist
Church, Olney.
LeAnn Kirkland Myers was
a bookkeeper for their business
and enjoys cooking, reading,
travel, and time in NM. She is
a member of the First Christian
Church, Archer City.

away Tuesday, October 11,
2011, at a Wichita Falls, Texas
hospital.
Marvin was born January 13,
1926 in Archer City to Bernard
Marvin Pickard and Eunice
Mae Fields Pickard.
He and Wanda Hall were
married October 7, 1980 in
Olney, Texas.
Mr. Pickard was born Janu-
ary 13, 1926 in Archer City to
Bernard Marvin Pickard and
Eunice M. Fields Pickard.
He and Wanda Hall were mar-
ried October 7, 1980 in Olney,
Texas.
Marvin proudly served his
country in the U.S. Navy.
After his tour of duty, he re-
turned to Archer City and was
employed by L.D. Burns. He
then went to work for Texas
Department of Transportation
and later, the State Hospital.
He returned to TXDOT where
he was employed until his

mingo Gonzalez and Mrs. Paula
Gonzalez of Sullivan City, TX,
is a Logistician in the United
States Army stationed at Fort
Polk, LA.
A June wedding is planned.
Windthorst Catholic Daughters
Hold Awards Banquet
Court Our Lady of Perpetual
Help #296 of the Catholic Daugh-
ters of the Americas, Windthorst,
held their annual awards program
and received two new members
during the summer of 2011. Tessa
(Sales) Yates and Anita Buerger
were received into the court by
taking the “CDA Pledge.”
State Education Contest win-
ners were announced. Trey
Schenk, son of Rhoda and Grady,
received 3rd place in Computer
Art, Division I; Max Anderle, son
of Andrea and Brian, received
2nd place in Computer Art, Divi-
sion II; and Coby Schroeder, son
of June and Michael, received 1st
Place Essay, Division I. The win-
ners received monetary awards
from the State Court of Texas.
Special court honorees for
2010-2011 were: Helen Berend,
74-year members, and. grand-
mother of Tessa (Sales) Yates,
new member; Lillie Wolf, CDA
Daughter of the Year; and Per-
fect Attendance recipients - Jean
Berend, Juliann Gregory, Mil-
dred Hilbers, Melinda Schneider,
Mary Ann Schroeder, Gina Wolf
and Lillie Wolf.
The court also presented
two 50-year membership pins.
They went to Grace Frerich
and Bardred Hilbers, Melinda
Schneider, Mary Ann Schroeder,
Gina Wolf and Lillie Wolf.
Two 50-year membership pins
were given to Grace Frerich and
Barbara Meurer, and the Lil-
lie Wolf CDA Scholarship was
presented to Savannah Syrus,
daughter of Kate and Garry.

Birth Announcements
Arie Bella Henson
retirement in 1992. After his
retirement, he worked in his
shop and was always inventing
things. He loved working in his
yard and gardening.
Survivors include his wife,
and two sisters, Joyce Crosslin
of Wichita Falls, and Bonnie
McElhannon of Justin, Texas;
his nephews, Mark and Matt
McElhannon of Flower Mound,
Texas; numerous other nieces
and nephews; and many friends.
Serving as pallbearers were
Lynn Lewis, Rusty McCord,
James Reed, Jim Reed, Lewis
Posey,and Keith Veitenheimer.
Honary pallbearer was Mitch
Harrelson.
Wanda would like to thank
