CLEANERS WITH
CLEANING IN MIND
Different cleaners do differ-
ent jobs. The upright is best for
large areas of rugs or wall-to-
wall carpets. Choose the canis-
ter for general housecleaning,
corners, stairs, bare floors and
"above the floor” cleaning
chores. Lightweight vacuum
cleaners, such as the stick and
hand vac, come in handy for
cleaning hard-to-reach places,
such ase car interiors and
draperies.

Tuberculin
Testing Set
For Oct. 30
Monday, Oct. 30, has been set
as date for the county-wide public
school tuberculosis testing pro-
gram. This date has been select-
ed in order to have results check-
ed the same week as the testing
is performed. The test is to be
used on first and seventh
graders.
The project is under direction
of Winkler County Medical So-
ciety and Memorial Hospital,
with Dr. A. R. Howard, county
health officer, co-ordinating the
project.
Physicians and their nurses
administering the tests will be
in East Primary, Kermit, in the
offices of Evelyn Alexander, Ker-
mit school nurse. Mrs. Alexan-
der will assist with the program.
Doris Dodd, Wink school
nurse, will work with the groups
in her offices.
Students who are “ positive re-
actors" will be referred to their
family physician. There will be
no charge for tuberculin tests
performed in the schools.
It has been pointed out this
test is recommended but is not
compulsory. Parental consent
forms were sent Wednesday to
all first and seventh grade stu-
dents in Kermit and Wink
schools. Parents are asked to
sign and return these forms im-
mediately to building principals
or homeroom teachers.
No student will be permitted
to take the test unless he has
the signed consent form.
