PAUL HARVEY
Broadening your horizons
by J. Byron Morgan
Airline
With Spring break and sum-
mer vacation Just around the
corner many student are
contemplating trip home as well
as vacation. With more student
discovering the increased advant-
ages of airline travel tht column
would like to provide some
information that may be useful
in arranging your travel.
Almost all the major domestic
airline including Texas Inter-
national Airways offers a Youth
Discount Fare for person 12 to
SI year of age at a membership
rate of $3 per year. This
discount card will not only
entitle you to a 20 reduction
on all Texas International
flight but will also entitle you
to a similar reduction on Delta
and one third off on Continental
and Breniff Airlines. These fares
entitle you to a positive
confirmed seat. Also American
Continental and Braniff will
allow you approximately
36-10 off on their standby
fares however you are not
allowed to book any reservation
when traveling standby.
With some airlines you are not
permitted to travel on a
discounted youth fare during
certain peak holiday traffic
periods. With Braniff for
instance you are restricted from
traveling on Fridays from noon
untU 9 p.m.
If you are considering a trip
abroad this summer I heartMy
recommend the Group Fare or
Tour Baaing Fare. There are
several group on campus being
formed at the present time wild
itineraries being arranged by
local travel agendo to countries
m Europe and the Holy Land a
weH as Mexico and Hawaii. The
Travel
group fare of 16 person or more-
provides many advantage in-
cluding oost saving m well as
having an experienced traveler
and guide to assist with
accommodation and arrange-
ments. The tour fare is normally
available through a Travel
Agency and will permit you to
pre-pay all your accommoda-
tions and tour. This provides
you extra savings In the total
fare. One of the most popular
tour fare Is to Hawaii with tours
of the other island luau hotel
and other arrengments pre-paid
and arranged by your agent.
Possibly the most inexpensive
way to see Europe or any other
country is by arranging an
Affinity Group and chartering a
flight. Many airlines including
World Airways rents Boeing
707 's in the same manner as
Herts rents oars. All you have to
do Is interest approximately 216
other individuals In going to
Burope with you. In some eases
the airline will put you in
contact with other groups
interested in arranging a charter.
Considerable saving can be
realised if a charter flight can be
successfully arranged however
many individuals a well as travel
agents prefer the amsMsr tour
groups.
In any ease whenever you
travel always make your reserva-
tions well In advance re-confirm
your reservations If you have a
layover of 72 hours or more and
if you are traveling abroad be
sure to obtain a passport and a
shot record card and most
important leave some space in
your luggage for aM those items
you wIM acquire whMc traveling.

English 'knocks' Paul Harvey
On Friday March M at 8
p.m. Paul Harvey renowned
new commentator and interne
tioneJ personality spoke on the
ACC campus m Moody Coli-
seum. Hi speech was one of
those things that cause asudety
and humor together to mingle m
the breast. It was undoubtedly a
speech with more nostalgia then
intellectual honesty. And it was
a speech with a stance even If
some of the props were sagging.
Speaking to a crowd of some
2000 he lauded Americanism
he spoke about old time religion
told fathers to be fathers and
assured his audience that
shotguns on lawbreaker will
sustain tranquillity. On the last
clause he missed the point.
He was correct when he said
we must return to the builder
God. He was correct when he
said our country can not get
salvation through legislation. He
was correct when he nailed our
country as a land of contradic-
tion. He was correct when he
mused "capitalism without God
is no better than communism."
He was correct when he
ventured pollution moral decay
inflation and lawlessness can all
do us in before communism can
get to us. But he missed the
point when he thought "alums in
the heart" explained slum-

summoned. For when Harvey
considered war and specifically
the Viet Nam war the
inconsistent consequences of
war act stared him right back In
the face. He saw acts crowned
with bravery and dignified with
honor. But at a second glance he
saw the same acts being
denounced soundly and viewed
diedainly. What then could
Harvey do besides scratch his
head and bluster in disbeKef?
Paul Harvey had a lot of good
point and a good many insight
When he said us youth view
some of the Institution of our
parent as Inconsistent and
hypocritical he hit the naH on
the head. When he mourned the
foolish blunder of the Southeast
Asia conflict he told R like it is.
When he declared politics
culture government and life in
general ssnsslsss without the
evangelistic necessity of God he
never spoke truer words.
But when he failed in his
