raises questions
Now they're telling us to expect
another shutdown in December.
They're certainly taking a roundabout
way to reduce spending.
futility to viewers
Television captivates the emotions of
the best of us. Some people suffer
from overwhelming dejection after
bombarded with the world's atrocities
on the 6 o'clock news.
Only the ignorant would dispute the
claim that television negatively influ-
ences the thoughts and behaviors of
its devoted patrons. '
But we can control our expeurc to
negativity; we can regulate what we
watch.
Let's permit ourselves a healdiy bal-
ance of educational shows news and
entertainment and seek informational
diversity with magazines newspapers
and books.
Selectivity will take some discipline
and choice but intelligent use of our
informational resources carries great
reward.
Let's do it for our peace of mind.

If life has developed a distance

take the time to build a bridge over
that space so you can cross it every

strengthen each other.
