CHRISTMAS AT HANDEL
HALL
The Christmas activities at
Handel Hall will consist of the
Children’s entertainment on next
Monday evening, December 25,
and the presentation o f the
Christmas cantata, "The Light
of the World” (Holton) by the
Handel Club on Thursday even-
ing, December 28.
The kiddies have been exceed-
ingly busy rehearsing for some
time and their program next
Monday night promises to be
quite enjoyable for the grown
ups as well as the youngsters.
The committee in charge is com-
posed of Mesdames T. H. Kroll,
Sidonia Rice, Fannie Haidusek,
Will Loessin, Elsie Kniggie and
Miss Gertrude Alexander, and
the affair will be a typical Han-
del family evening. The Club will
sing the two well known num-
bers, "Hallelujah Chorus” by
Handel and "The Pilgrims’
Chorus” by Wagner. At the con-
clusion, as the lights die out, all
will join in singing a Christmas
carol especially written for the
occasion. The hour set for the
beginning of the program is 7
o’clock sharp.
The cantata that will be ren-
dered on Thursday evening,
while not of a very difficult na-
ture, is of the most tuneful and
appealing that the club has yet
offered during the many years
that these cantatas have been
given. The members of the Club
are cordially urged to bring their
out-of-town guests with them for
both evenings. The cantatas will
last about one hour, beginning
promptly at 7:30 p. m.

Yuletide
Greetings
5“
At this season of the year all
thoughts are centered upon the
happy Christmas hours when the
frierd and the relative vie with
each other to offer some greeting
or tender some gift. Hundreds
of miles away from the friends I
have in LaGrange prevents me
from offering in person the good
wishes for the holidays that are
uppermost in my mind, but they
rob me not of the opportunity of
telling you that I am thinking of
you now, and that it is my sin-
cerest wish that everyone of you
will have a very Merry Christ-
mas. Time has not effaced from
memory the recollections of your
kindness to me while in LaGrange
and ill at the hospital. The kind-
ness that you have shown, and
the interest and painstaking ef-
forts in my behalf by the hospi-
tal surgeons and nurses, and rel-
atives and friends, have made it
possible for this greeting to be
sent to you for Christmas and
for a Happy New Year.
