LaG range on Wednesday and Thurs-
day nights of this week. Featured in
the comedy—the play correctly
termed—is Betty Bronson, who falls
in love with an opera singer, Ricardo
Cortez. A pet. cat plays an import-
ant part in the comedy when it wan-
ders back stage and is discovered by
the opera singer. With frankness
the singer, seeing the little feline
makes the .statement that he will mar-
ry the first woman it leads him to.
The reader may guess the sequel.
Theodore Roberts appears as. the
crippled father of Betty -and Arlette
Marchal appears as a dancer to whom
the cat leads Cortez. Then, the fun
commences. You will have to see the
play to appreciate it.
Johnny Hines, always a welcome
visitor, always appearing in good
comedies that the fan enjoys, is
booked to be at the €ozy Theatre on
Friday night, January 7. Johnny
does some remarkable stunts in his
new play, “The Brown Derby” in
which he appears as a youthful la-
borer arid strikes romance and rich-
es. It’s a farce comedy, sure, the
kind you can enjoy after a hard day
of labor, and you can enjoy Johnny’s
capers, for there will be plenty of
them. t The farce comedy is produced
by C. C. Burr and is released through
the First National corporation. ,
Saturday night Blanche Sweet will
appear in “Mile. Modiste”—in which
she appears as Fifi—a story Of an
American millionaire who opens a
modiste ship in- Paris with Fifi as
partner. There is an abundance of
love and infatuation and enough
jealousy to create an interest. Pari-
sian plays are generally fascinating,
and contain enough spice to add col-
or. This play seems to be not an
exception.
Special feature play for Which 30c
wilt 'be charged for adults and 16c
for children will be-shown next Sun-
day and Monday nights. The offer-
ing, “The Temptress’’ is recorded in
the critic’s review as an exceptionally
strong play, in which some of the
foremost screen stars appear. Pro-
duced in some of the city’s largest
theatres in this state it has been ac-
claimed by those who saw the' play
as being an exceptionally strong
play, one that will amuse and inter-
est the movie patron who craves for
something that ia well acted and
with an appealing vein throughout.
