[2nd Infantry Division on Parade]

Description: Photograph of two M8 Greyhound armored scout cars from the 2nd Infantry Division on parade through downtown Austin. Following almost a year of combat in the European Theater, the 2nd Infantry Division was stationed in Texas to train up for deployment to the Pacific, which never happened due to the war's ending.

The library opened at this location on February 16, 1926. Grace Delano Clark served as volunteer librarian.
