Description: Head-and-shoulders portrait of Cleve B. Singleton, a City of Denton police officer. He grew up singing in his father's church and sang at other events. He became a police officer in 1959 and stayed with the Denton until 1963-64 when he and his wife moved to Richardson.

Description: A crane is placing cement piping into place during the construction of the Cooper Creek sewer outfall line behind Millpond Drive. Tex-Con Utility Contractors of Garland was in charge of the operation. The line ran within the city limits and was two miles long, following Cooper Creek. Construction began in 1965 and the new sewer line was in operation by January 1967.

[Denton City/County Library Bookmobile]

Description: Unidentified men stand in front of a Denton City/County Public Library bookmobile. Denton Public School buses are in the background. The picture was taken across from Congress Junior High School facing Alice Street. In 1938 the schools purchased a bookmobile to provide better library services to schools in the County. The Works Progress Administration funded the staff and maintenance of the bookmobile program.
