We believe the card was created sometime in the year of 1895 based on the advertisement for The Denton Hotel which said it was the successor to Pierce House. We found no other newspaper advertisements for Pierce House after February of 1895.

The Osmunda Club Programme

Description: The Osmunda Club tendered this program and dance card to Miss McNeely of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Misses Lena and Louise Comegys of Gainesville, Texas. The dance took place in the club rooms on January 31, 1896. The Osmunda Club's first organizational meeting was held on November 18th, 1895. Officers were elected and a name was chosen at the next club meeting. They held many fancy dress balls throughout the year.

The name of Mrs. William (Effie Wright) Williams living at 516 W. Oak Street, has been written on the back in ink. We presume that she was the donor of the booklet.
