before God and give Him Lord-

among the men of Howard Payne
to clean up their lives and rid

ful thoughts that were strongholds
of sin. Also many women came
forward in support of each other
confessing to purposely being a
source of temptation for the men
with this. Wc all know the dam-
age alcohol can cause."
A chapel service on student al-
coholism is being recommended
to the Chapel Board and the stu-
dent counseling service at the
Century 21 Building is offering
anonymous counseling for alco-
hol abuse and a variety of other
subjects for all Howard Payne stu-
dents. from the conference to share with
the Social Work Club members at
the Jan. 31 meeting.
At the meeting she gave a brief
report of the addresses given by
John Wilson and Justice Kennedy.
The conference was hosted by
the Texas Department of Preven-
tion of Child Abuse.

One way that HPU hopes to
enhance the soccer program for
both men and women is by re-
cruiting new players.
"Recruiting will be the back-
bone to bring in new talent"
Clcvengcr said.
"At the moment the soccer
team is made up of players who
were not recruited but who love
to play soccer."
The purpose of recruiting new
players is not to replace the cur-
rent players but to improve the
team as a whole.
"I'm kind of nervous about
new recruits" Johnson said "but
