in an e-mail. There is also a section
for Facilities' student workers.
"I hope you will all avail yourselves

FREEDOM FILES
PREMIERE AT
MUGSHOTS
The University of Dallas
community is invited to attend
the community premiere of The
ACLU Freedom Files: Beyond
the Patriot Act, which will be
8 p.m. Sept. 8 at MugShots
Coffee Shop, 1041 W. Rochelle
at MacArthur Boulevard.
The American Civil Liberties
Union and award-winning
producer and director Robert
Greenwald (Outfoxed,
Unconstitutional) created The
ACLU Freedom Files, a new
series of ten 30-minute episodes.
"The series explores current
civil liberties issues, featuring
well-known actors, comedians
and activists, along with actual
civil liberties litigants and the
attorneys who represent them,"
said event host Monica Ellington
in a press release.
The premiere episode highlights
the far-reaching civil liberties
implications of the Patriot Act
and tells the personal stories
of individuals affected by post
Sept. 11 legislation, the press
release said.
"The premiere comes at a pivotal
moment in our nations history as
after Labor Day, Congressional
Conferees will attempt to
negotiate a compromise between
conflicting Senate and House
Patriot Act renewal bills, and
present a final bill for signature
by the President," Ellington said.
"By joining us on Thursday,
Sept. 8, you have the opportunity
to become informed on how
these expansions and revisions
to the Patriot Act affect the civil
liberties of real people every
day."
