aspiration which later culmi-
nated into a childhood
dream come true for Thelma
Fish. The people of Archer
County have for the past
twenty five years reaped the
benefits of her dedication
and devptkm to the nursing
profession and to the
patients she has served.
Born in Flint, Texas.
Thelma lost her Mother at
an early age. Along with
her Grandparents. Mr. and
Mrs. J.D. McCracken, she
came in a covered wagon to
Archer City in 1910.

She enjoys remembering

but "we always managed to
get by just fine.”
People who know Thelma
and were her patients
always speak of the “extra-
beyond the call of duty"
care and kindness given
them, ft is her goodness
and humanitarianism pro-
fessionally and as a friend
that has endeared her to so
many.
Nursing has been an
important part of Thelma's
life, and she has proven her
excellence in every phase of
it. Her most satisfying
memories are working with
new bom babies, and seeing
people recover, knowing that
she had a part in that
recovery. Of course, losing
a patient has always been
the most distressing. The
most dramatic and shatter-
ing experience she can recall
is an accident which
