Notes

Chris Victor Semos (1936-2004) and family owned the Torch of the Acropolis restaurant in Oak Cliff, Dallas. Opening in 1948, part of the decor was authentic folk costumes and artifacts. In November 1968, the Torch burned down and many artifacts were lost. The restaurant was rebuilt, and eventually closed in 1984. A number of textiles and costumes were salvaged after the fire, but were badly damaged by soot, smoke, and in some cases charred.
