Public Safety reports
Sherri Lynn Cyr, 28, of
Whitewright was invloved
in a one-car accident 1.3
miles north of Wills Point
on FM 47 January 20.
Ms. Cyr was northbound
on FM 47 and lost control
of her 1980 Chevrolet Cor-
vette in a curve. She drove
off of the west side of the
road, went through a
fence, and flipped the
vehicle on its top. Ms. Cyr
was ticketed for DWI, the
DPS report said.
A second one-car acci-
dent January 20 occurred
on 1-20 two miles south of
Van when a gust of wind
blew the camper off of the
back of a 1982 Chevrolet
Silverado pickup owned by
Thomas Gessippi Lucia of
Weatherford.
The camper top landed
in the median and damage
was caused to the camper
and the inside rear walls of
the truck bed.
A two-car accident
January 21 occurred 5.7
miles south of Wills Point
on FM 47 and the 1-20
south service road. Toby
Lawson McKeage of Wills
Point was driving a 1977
Chrysler Cordoba and Billy
Lewis Belser of Gladewater
was driving a 1976 Ford
F-250 pickup when the ac-
cident occurred, according
to the DPS.
McKeage was north-
bound on FM 47 and
Belser was traveling east on

involved in a two-car acci-
dent 11 miles south of Can
ton on FM 47 January 21.
Paul Wayne Hutcher
son. 28, of Canton was
southbound on FM 47 in
his 1978 Ford F 250 pickup
and Robert Barry Burrage.
16, of Canton was west
bound on FM 47 in a 1970
Ford 100 pickup. Burrage
failed to yield the right of
way to Hutcherson at a
stop intersection and
struck him in the right
center with the front of his
pickup, according to the
DPS report
Burrage was ticketed for
violation of drivers license
restriction code B (LOFS
age 18 or over), failure to
yield right of way at a stop
intersection, and no liabili-
ty insurance.
Meeting slated
VAN- Van residents in-
terested in forming a
Neighborhood Watch pro-
gram in the city of Van are
invited to attend an
organizational meeting at
7 p.m. Tuesday.
The meeting will be held
at the Van Fire Depart-
ment station, according to
Van Police Chief Charles

both the "Golden Achieve-
ment Award" end the
“P A C E Sefter Award"
by Meliwa Shaw, district
representative, at the
regular meeting at the
Grub Stake Restaurant in
Canton Monday, January
14. The “Golden Achieve-
ment Award" means the
Unit reached an all-time
high in crusade income
and exceeded the per
capita goal of the Texas
Division in 1984.
The “P-A-C-E Setter
Award" is given the chap-
ter for having carried out
recommended "Priority
Activities in Cancer Educa
tion" (PACE) during the
1983-1984 program year.
C. E. Louden reported
that the senior citizens will
be sponsoring a pancake
breakfast at the Senior
Citizens building Saturday,
February 9, from 7 to 11
a m. with proceeds going
to the A C S.
Elizabeth Ellis gave each
director present several
copies of the "Community
Resources of Patients"
pamphlet recently pre
pared by her committee.
The pamphlet has perti
nent information for any
person(s) needing assis
tance on cancer and/or
community resources.
These are available to any
one and can be obtained
from any of the Cancer
Society Board of Directors.
Ms. Shaw reported to
the chapter that the kick
off for the crusade will be
held March It from 11
a.m. until 2:30 p.m. in
’ Tyler at the Wlllowhrook
Country Club. April it
designated as crusade
month every year by the
A.C.S. Doris Bums,- coun-
ty crusade chairperson, has
named the following as
chairpersons of their
respective cities and
communities.
