crowd at Mountain View school house
yesterday to attend the county sing-
ing convention, and many of them
were from Brownwood. -The music
was exceptionally, good and those
whoj- were there In time were wel-
comed to an excellent dinner. The
Drown county singing conventions
are growing In popularity and It Is
getting to be a problem to accommo-

deal that has been pending for some
few days was filially closed whereby
Max Uorachaw becomes the owner
of the W. If Stevenson stock Of gro-
ceries. The deal was made through
the Rankin Land Company. Mr. tBor-
achaw expects to move the stock to
the Grlnnan building on Center Av-,
enue, wh#re he expects to Combine It
with a qtogk of dry goods, that will
be moved .here from Santa Anna. Mr. [

of. Fort Worth, having a large.estab-
lish in* m on Main street In that city.

the grocery business here for several
years and haa always enjoyed a
trade. He does not announce his In-
tentlons, but It is presumed that he
will remain In Brownwood, having
been attracted here on account of ths
schools and colleges. He Is a wide-
awake and hustling business man and
will succeed In any business.
